By permission of the artistThe Cyber Art Show is pleased to feature the first of two

12-piece Exhibitions of works by American contemporary Impressionist painter Jill McGannon (born 1963 in Miami, Florida).

Jill Schultz McGannon completed her BFA and MFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of Georgia in 1988, and has made a living as an artist since then.  She painted murals for many years to supplement painting sales.

Jill has studied with Gregg Kreutz, David Leffel, Terry Miura, and Marc Hanson. Her work can be seen at Mason Murer Fine Art in Atlanta, Georgia,  Addington  Gallery in Chicago, Illinois,  and Iocovozzi Fine Art in Savannah, Georgia.

Jill paints realistic landscape, figure and still life paintings in oils, preferring to work from life whenever possible.  Her favorite destinations for plein air landscape painting include the Georgia coast and piedmont, the mountains of North Carolina, and the Italian countryside. These smaller works are often turned into larger paintings in the studio.

Jill lives in the Atlanta area where she teaches painting at the Johns Creek Arts Center, and is an Associate member of Oil Painters of America; Women Painters of the Southeast; American Women Artists, and American Impressionist Society.

“For me, landscape painting is a search for the phenomenally beautiful.   I try to find a view with a little bit of magic and then magnify it.”
